PCB Storage

With the exception of utilities, very few PCB owners are choosing to store their PCB wastes on site.

Although the practice of on-site storage was commonplace before Swan Hills opened up, now that the technology is available many PCB owners are choosing to remove their PCBs as soon as they are generated.

With the passing of the new Federal PCB Regulations, there are restrictions on how long PCB wastes can be stored on site.

Important Notes:

The new federal PCB Regulations published in the Canada Gazette Sept 17/08 require that all stored PCBs must be removed for disposal no later than " one year, beginning on the day on which their use is no longer permitted under the Regulations or the day on which they are no longer processed daily or used, whichever is sooner".
